Conclusion 11*30*04 Like first quarter, second quarter went by so fast and it is already the start of winter vacation.
One of my accomplishments for this quarter was not getting a deficiancy in math...I got a B. I know, surprising. But I'm not so sure now that we have taken final exams. As far as accomplishing something in english, I am proud to say that I learned how to do a Powerpoint presentation, adding in music and all. I know, sad, not know how to do a Powerpoint. This is one of the first projects that we needed to do a Powerpoint presentation, and I don't mean to be haughty, but it was a nice job for the first try. Again, one of my challenges this quarter was procratinating. It's not that I don't want to do the work, but it's just that I have not time. I'm guilty of sleeping or wathcing TV when I know that something really important is due. I guess I need to work a bit more on my time management skills. I tried my best to finish all my work, staying up late, coming to school early and sometimes giving up my lunch and recess to work. My goals for next quarter is the same, find ways to complete assignment and not making up excuses. I also hope to have more time to complete my work and sleep...you know, not staying up too late. Don't know what else to say...except for a good-bye and see you next quarter.
Portfolio Reflection
This time around, the portfolio load was lighter. Because we already had our templates and running theme, all was needed was to update our content. But I chose to fix up the layout, so it wasn't too hard. Although doing the portfolio takes up a lot of time and effort, it helps us to be responsible by keeping track of our own work and learning. It also sharpens our skills in HTML coding, in case we want to get into the field of web design. Our Adobe Photoshop skills are also sharpened, especially our creativity. The standard that I supported well would have to be standard number 4, the one about demonstrating confidence as reader and sharing what you read with others. I felt that it was one of the easier standards. I could say that I supported it well because I gave clear and supportive evidence, explaining how I met the standard and given examples from class assignments.
Wow! The quarter ended so fast. I guess time really flies when you are being put to work. This past quarter, we learned a lot of things. But one of my achievements this quarter was probably learning how to write an allusive poem and improving on my writing skills. I compare my work from last year and now I have greatly improved. When I write, i am more descriptive and my grammar is a little more refined and I just have a better passion when given a writing assignment. I don't see it as another burden and another night that I have to stay up late, but as a way to improve my writing. Looking back, one of the major challenges that I faced was probably getting back into the swing of school. I was getting all stressed out because I was getting bombarded with work and I couldn't really balance it out as well as I used to. now, after first quarter, I'm a little more used to getting work and now I may need to adjust my time management skills by prioritizing things better and do work first and then play and not procrastinating. Well I guess this is good-bye. Thanks for stopping by and having a look around and until next quarter...
