Mrs S:, "Can you guys logging on at home figure out how to log? I can't even copy paste it seems.." Mrs S:, "Maureen...d'you have Lorraine on the phone?" Maureen: "i'm going to try and call her right now" Maureen: "Lance couldn't be found?" Mrs M: "I can see both of you - and I can copy and paste." Maureen: "Lorraine isn't answering...she's probably still out" Mrs S:, "Okie dokes...then once Alicia gets here we're good to go :)" Daniel: "i can't seem to copy and paste to log the chat =(" Mrs S:, "Thanks Ellen...can you copy paste the log then? And Lance was at track practice when I called...his mom didn't know when he'd be back" Mrs S:, "Daniel and Marueen...if you haven't taken a look yet..check out the team posts on our site...under "docs"" Daniel: "okay" Maureen: "I've seen them Mrs. S" Mrs S:, "great Maureen...we'll try to kick it up a notch from there ;>" Maureen: "ok" Mrs S:, "Hi Alicia!" Alicia: "Hey Sorry if I get kicked off my computers is acting odd." Mrs S:, "*chuckle* bad tech day...Lorraine can't even get online...Maureen's gonna try to do a telephone connection w/her ;>" Alicia: "I hope that works?" Mrs S:, "So Alicia...we will follow your lead...Maureen and Daniel have checked out the collected email comments of the group on the topic" Alicia: "Well I looked at the others posts and realized that they were good ideas off of the meeting we had on wensday, but as I said in my email I think we need to decide what is enduring about all the cultures and religions." Alicia: "I think if we follow..." Alicia: "Mrs.S's lead about wanting to become immortal.." Mrs S:, "*chuckle* I do ;>" Maureen: "hehe" Daniel: "hehe" Alicia: "Sorry what was the last thing that posted from me my browser is refreshing oddly" Mrs S:, "yeah...and you guys have the words "eternal" "enduring" "unique" "culture" besides the music and art and architecture" Mrs M: "Your ideas on perpetuation of culture - reflected in the sacred places - the idea of" Alicia: "thanks" Mrs S:, "and I liked the idea about what the places and cultures are trying to teach us :)" Alicia: "So were should we go from here. What do you guys think we should focus on before we do the history part" Maureen: "have we decided on what cultures we are goin to focus on?" Maureen: "going-^" Mrs S:, "hmmm...you may want to study a bunch first and then pick once you kinda know em a bit" Alicia: "No I don't think so .. But it doesn't have to been a culture that we still see today but one that existed before and influenced another. Kinda like continuing on itself" Maureen: "ok" Alicia: "reflecting on the emais what about different cultures, ancient places, and religions, are enduring." Mrs S:, "and influential...which are reflected in culture today? whose ideas are reflected in existing cultures?" Mrs S:, "interesing...I can see where you can follow that same pattern in art and music as well" Mrs M: "Maureen, you had some big ideas - regarding how we can integrate the art, music, architect - and project or create new ideas?" Maureen: "we still follow the romans and their architecture (at least i think it was them...)" Mrs S:, "I think some of their concepts in art as well...the human form, perspective" Mrs S:, "and of course, architecture" Maureen: "I don't remember everything I learned in the 6th grade, but I know that there are many things that we use that came from their ideas...so in that way, they are influential" Alicia: "Well heres a lesson that was left wether or not you believe it existed. Atlantis was this great overwelming society that destroyed itself because they exploted their technology and resources. The lesson it left us with is not to fight among our self and destroy each other" Mrs S:, "oooh...way cool...we've got the Greeks that endured and Atlantis that did not..and a tech issue to boot..." Mrs M: "Not to mention those that cannot be explained -" Mrs S:, "and Maureen...in their being influential...they have become immortal :)" Maureen: "hehe, connections are being made..." Mrs S:, "awesome....told ya so ;>" Alicia: "Thats great Maureen they are influential if we let them by teaching us." Mrs S:, "woo-hoo..brings a whole new level to that phrase "enuding knowledge" don't it ;>" Mrs S:, "oops enduring" Alicia: "So what does Daniel Think about all of this" Daniel: "well... i really like the idea that we are going to connect to their ideas and ways..." Daniel: "but i'm curious as to what cultures we're going to go further in depth..." Maureen: "and how many..." Alicia: "Daniel I am not sure if the culture we are going to look into at the moment is as important as the enduring knowledge we want to search for in that culture." Mrs S:, "it's kinda neat cause you guys are sorta setting your paramters...standards...for what make a culture enduring..." Mrs S:, "and in doing so, you are investigating what is enduring knowledge...kinda coming full circle I'd say :)" Alicia: "What should are standards be then??" Mrs S:, "I think you may discover them as you work the project...right now you've something like their influence on other cultures...that they withstand time...live on in new cultures.." Alicia: "How should our project proposls be directed then. What are we looking to decide." Mrs M: "and I think you'v e also taken it to the next step by the idea of "the power to create" - hope am interpreting Maureen's contributions." ynnes says, "I think you guys have the raw mateials...I'd go over the chat log and pull out the ideas that would work together for a project purpose...then check out the proposal elements that I have posted and think about the actual implemenetation of the project..the website and the tech" Mrs M: "Are there some universal truths that run through your connections?" Maureen: "about looking over the chat log...does it cut off the first part of it for you guys too?" Mrs S:, "I think it cuts if you get cut off...we'll see what Mrs. M has been able to capture...I will try to post it on the website for you guys immediately" Mrs M: "I will copy and paste it into your emails - so please - everyone - read and extract those big ideas..you probably will see a pattern to which you can add the details to including the parameters set for the proposals.." Mrs S:, "I think so...I am seeing great patterns...connections as Maureen calls them :)" Maureen: "hehe" Mrs S:, "Doing a great job moving this all along Alicia :)" Alicia: "Thanks hehe!" Mrs S:, "and making sure that Mr. Daniel gets a chance to make his contribution...hehehe" Mrs M: "Ok folks, will send it on email in a few minutes so hang in there." Mrs S:, "are we all brain fried now? keeping to that food metaphor? ;>" Alicia: "Question" Maureen: "haha" Alicia: "How long do we plan on staying after school tomorrow" Mrs M: "Yup and my stew is brewing - better get to it. Thanks Alicia, Maureen, Daniel and Mrs. S." Mrs S:, "I can stay for as long as you want to...the actual registration doesn't take long..the proposal portion depends..." Mrs S:, "thanks mrs m!!!" Alicia: "So say 2:30 2:45" Maureen: "as long as it takes...but if possible get home early to see my aunt to the airport" Mrs S:, "that would be great...I was gonna say 3 but 2:45 is close :)" Mrs S:, "okie dokes...if everyone reads email and thinks about putting the proposal together it should be pretty smooth" Mrs S:, "you guys did great brainwork today :)" Alicia: "good" Maureen: "does the proposal have to be in a certain format?" Mrs S:, "didn't look like it when I peeked at the Food for Thought group..." Mrs S:, "Mainly just a statement of purpose and then a brief plan of how you'll implement that purpose" Alicia: "ok" Mrs S:, "okie dokes...I've gotta get back to the students in my classroom who're working on their History Day stuff..." Mrs S:, "thanks to all...see you tomorrow in school!!!" Daniel: "ok.. aloha!" Mrs S:, "Maureen can you fill Lorraine in on this?" Alicia: "thanks good like everyone!!" Alicia: "Luck" Maureen: "sure" Mrs S:, "byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!" Alicia: "See Ya!" acrampton leaves. Daniel: "see ya everyone!" danielb087 leaves. acrampton enters. acrampton leaves. Mrs M: "oops - aloha" |
