Hi all,

Well here we are...in the newly created ITF Project listserv...the entire
MOHS ITF Team...students and teacher coaches...should be part of this
list. If you would like to make any changes as far as email addresses,
let me know. You can also access the list on the web at
        http://rainbow.kapaams.k12.hi.us/cgi-shell/lyris.pl?enter=imagine
It is also a link off our MOHS Imagine site.

Next...congratulations yet again to all...for surviving the
Imagine-a-thon....and then some...

The ideas and collab and synergy created (whether by sugar and fatigue
induced euphoria or not ;) were awesome!

And now...some homework ;>

Please do a short reflection on the events of the evening and send it to
the listserv....
The reflection could consider (but is not limited to)
response to the ITF process thus far
response to our videoconference w/Dr. Sadagic
        response to the chat
        response to the movie
response to the team activity & the team presentations
response to the food :) and the food for thought...
thoughts on next steps...ideas for projects, inquiry, other
resources, activities, etc

Also...please share a bit from your scavenger hunt...somethine you learned
about your partner...neat stuff from the "fascinating stories" links...and
any SIGs that you would like to see set up for the ITF project on the TQ
site....

Raymond and Melanie...special kudos to you guys for surviving the night
and then heading straight out to your Science and Math Team
competitions!!!

Special thanks to Ms. Harada for keeping our insides warm and nurtured and
to Mr. Saki for all the tech support :)

Thanks!!!

Well my reflection is that the over-nighter, which was a true over-nighter
was one of the best things that could be done for any club or special
programs.......I think so far this imagine project is going really good. I
mean we did a lot of things to get know people, which is good considering I
only knew one person out of everyone. Now I know many more people, not as
good as I would like to but that takes time but I know most of their names.
Which is what pretty much matters considering we will be doing a lot
together. The video conference was pretty good. Even though the sound was not
that good the slides really helped a lot and made it easy to stay on track.
The chat was pretty good also but not a lot of people really stayed on what
we were trying to talk about. But the "yellow snow" was pretty funny and kept
humor to the night. The movie was ok.....I went home and told my dad what we
watched and what do you know? We have that movie!!! He has the same insight
as Mr. Hale did.....it us a classical. Which I thought was pretty funny. Well
not really because I got 30 minutes of sleep then had to go to work with him
at his store and I just wanted to go to sleep....LoL......but yeah
anyways.......I think the team activity was so fun!!! My group worked really
good together which made it easier. And we all just "clicked." Man the food
was so good!!!! Thank you so much Ms. Harada!!!! Not really sure about the
next step but so far I am having so much fun with this project and I am glad
that I decided to join.....(sorry if this is long)
Thanks....Jaci.....:)

Hey everyone,

The overnighter, in my opinion was a great success. I got to meet a lot
of new people and I learned a lot. The conference with Dr. Sadagic was
awesome despite the sound problems. I was just blown away by all the
technology that was shown. During the conference I was thinking of other
ways to use this technology and the possibilities are endless. It's
astounding what the human mind is capable of.

It is also equally astounding what Ms. Harada's cooking is capable of.
Mrs. Harada, if you are reading this, thank you very much for all your
hard work. Your cooking is top-notch, especially your chilli. Even as I
write, my mouth waters at the thought of it. If we have another
overnighter, I am not coming unless you're there to feed us.

The movie was very cool. I liked the idea that music is a universal
language. I strongly believe that music is a language that we are all
fluent in, something that we can all feel and understand. Our
understanding of music is what makes us intelligent.

The website was hard work. I have to give lots of credit to Cheryl and
Alicia who did the hard stuff. (Hard stuff meaning anything to do with
computers). I enjoyed everyone's presentation and I had a lot of fun, but
man, was it tiring. Once I got home, I couldn't even keep my eyes open.
I slept all the way until dinner and even then I felt sluggish. I think
My body clock is thrown off for the rest of the month. Raymond's and
Melanie's ones are probably thrown off for the rest of the year.

About my partner: the thing I remember about Raymond is his e-mail
address-diplodoci@hotmail.com. He said he he chose it because it sounded
cool, kind of like duplicity or something like that (Raymond, I'm sorry if
I'm getting this all wrong). And he didn't choose the single form
(diplodocous or diplodosaurus or diplodon, oh forget it, it's somthing
like that) simply because it was taken.

Well, that about wraps it up. I have to get off the line now. I'm
looking forward to reading all of your guys's (not this again)
reflections. Later.

The overnighter was a extremely positive experience. Though, initially,
the imagine the future project seemed interesting, the real clincher came
from my experience at the sleepover. The video conference with Dr.
Sadagic was the first video conference I'd ever experienced. The reality
of the new age dawned on me at this point. I had never been truly exposed
to that level of technology. "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" was an
interesting movie which effectively related to the main idea of "out of
box" thinking that Imagine the Future is trying to present. The team
activity was my favorite part. At midnight, I was ready for bed. But
once our group got started on the video production, sleep was the furthest
thing from my mind. I got the opportunity to really get to know my group
members and we shared an unforgettable experience putting together "From
Greeks to Geeks." The food was great!!! The chili was the best I'd ever
tasted. I'm really looking forward to the next meeting and the putting
together a website. POWER TO THE GEEKS!!!
