Problem: 10 feet, 5 bodies, 2 sheets of paper. Objective: reach dinner without the feet losing touch with the paper...

A little bit of creativity and out-of-box thinking and the teams were off...making it to the dinner table in no time!

On the evening of January 18, 2002, fifteen intrepid team members in the Imagine the Future Project gathered at the student center of MOHS, not certain of what the immediate future held in store for them...

They had a formidable agenda, but fortified by Ms. Harada's chili and kimchee, they set about the accomplish it...and then some...

The goal for the evening was to get a glimpse of the cutting age tech involved in Internet 2 and other advanced technologies and to define for themselves the concept of "enduring knowledge."

"Close Encounters of the Third Kind," a dramatic rendering of the kind of "knowing" that goes against the accepted and the everyday started them off on the right track. Then, Dr. Amela Sadagic inspired them with a glimpse of the future in science and technology.

Team members had a great time conferencing with Dr. Sadagic, who had to stay awake until 12 midnight to join them! They had questions about Internet 2 and about teleimmersion and its commerical applications.

After their own brand of tele-immersion, which included watching and reflecting on "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," the team defined what they considered "enduring knowledge" and set out to communicate that via web pages or video. The three teams selected "flexibility," "creativity," and "database of knowledge" as their focus and proceeded in the wee hours of the morning to implement their ideas, digitally.
