Jump Start 2K4 | July 16 | July 19 | July 20 | July21 | July22

JumpStart 2004 concluded with a "graffiti wall" activity. Each participant and mentor made their mark on the wall, sharing how they wanted to be remembered in JumpStart and sharing appreciation for their mentors and teammates. Participants also were treated to the traditional JumpStart pizza party, celebrating their survival in the program.

The final day of JumpStart began with the "paper bag" team building activity. Each group of four students was given a paper bag and told that they would need to figure out a way to get their entire team into the bag...together. The problem solving activity required "out of box" thinking...or in this case, out of bag. All teams were successful! [Note: Photos do not portry correct solutions.]

The main task today was to complete editing and dub out of the Pearlridge videos. All teams succeeded.

This video proved to be more challenging than the freshman fear video. Teams had to collect real world raw footage and try to find meaning in it and from there shape their focus and thesis.

All teams rose to the challenge. Not only were class members able to view the Pearlridge videos--they were also treated to the premiere of Ian Voje's skateboard video "Gnarly" and the preview to his blockbuster production, Cinder Loser."

JumpStart '04 Album: Teams processing video and audio for their Pearlridge documentaries. The mentors share a laugh as the rookies take the "paper bag test." And rookies make their mark on our JumpStart graffiti wall.

Welcome, MeneMAC Class of 2008!!!!!!!
