Media-Centered Project, Moanalua High School and Osaka Gakuin University April, 2005

Project Overview: Who am I and what are my responsibilities in the world of digital media?

Premises or Beliefs

  1. Digital communication is worldwide and impacts our lives.
  2. Being responsible users of digital media is our obligation.
  3. Analyzing what, why, and how media is being utilized will make us more critical and literal users of media.

Objectives of the Project

  1. To understand the different types of digital media in the world (especially newspapers, magazines, television, internet, and cellular phones) and "who I are" in the media network.
  2. To be an ethical user of digital media through the skills of critical thinking-careful reading; attentive listening and speaking; and responsible writing of thoughts and feelings.
  3. To share and gain insights about varied media perspectives in differing cultures through the Hawaii-Osaka partnership.
