First Time Chef
Crackling, popping, searing sounds
An itchy hand hovering over a lava pool of jumping oil
Fork poised, it goes down towards the slab of meat
Picking it up, turning it over
A sigh of relief from the nervous chef.
Another minute passes,
A plate is placed on the counter
The meat is taken out of the pan.
What was once raw meat,
Now is seasoned to perfection
As it transforms into what we call “steak”
Dinner is served!
