Video Conference Project -- Coming of Age in the Twenty-first Century -- Fall, 2006
Moanalua High School Art and Media Departments, Molokai High School, and Osaka Gakuin University
October - December, 2006
Enduring Knowledge
- Human beings have always used literature and writing—“[to make] sense of life,” “to feel at home in the universe” and to make a difference in their world.
- This “collected wisdom” creates echoes and resonance between past and present and enriches both the reading and writing of all subsequent literature.
- In particular, the language arts can help to make sense of the passage into adulthood and to make sense of the inexplicable in life (death, the existence of evil, conflict, etc)
- Communication takes many forms and being a literate “reader of the world” can help in the process of self-discovery and connection making, enriching our lives and preparing us to be better “participants in life.”

MeneMAC Risky Business Surveys
Hi Osaka Gakuin students and artists from Molokai and MoHS! The sophomores of MeneMAC are looking at "coming of age" from the perspective of teen risk behaviors--dangerous actions that young people take as they make the transition from child to adult. Our six teams would like to ask for your help in their study! You can find a short explanation of our different projects on the project forum here Thank you....mahalo...arigato!!!
