November 15, 2003: Conference prep got into high gear when the pros from Waianae came to visit! Teacher-advisors, Candy Suiso and John Allen III, and three of their students shared their awesome video projects as well as their conference experiences! Our convention crew was all ears to hear all about the work (and the play) that makes convention going such a great experience. We'll be looking forward to seeing our mentors again...in LA!!!

| November 22, 2003: Cherie Yamashiroya and Natasia Gascon, the spot documentary team, prep for their event by producing a spot documentary on the conference team and its preparation for LA. They were able to complete their video within the 4 hours of our Saturday session and we will play their work during our parent meeting on December 10! ![]() ![]() November 22, 2003: The conference feature team, represented by Marisa Kiethanom and Melissa Cantillo (with Vanessa Butin), decides on the best focus or angle for their video. Meanwhile, Mari Maeda from the STN Challenge News Feature team (with Daniel Bumanglag, Yvette Butac, and Megan Shiraishi) ponders the best way to convey the issue of gender stereotyping for their audience.

November 22, 2003: Nina Blanco and Mari Nagamine (with Jessica Bartolome) from the music video team attempt to capture the Meatloaf song, "Life is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back," while Russell Vea and Chris Hooks (with Keith Kunitake) from the STN Sports Feature Challenge work to capture the issue of athletics and academics. Others in the conference team worked on a video essay (Lorraine Pascual), news anchoring (Gerald Rojo II and Melissa Cadelina), and PSA (Jason Gima and Pia Grace Baldovi).
