Molokai By the Numbers!
Reflections from the Math Team Meet on Molokai Stacie Tamura (pre-trip reflection): "Some of these students and I (especially) have never slept overnight in a gym on wrestling mats with a bunch of strange teenagers who enjoy giving up their free time to do hard math problems. (I hope I can survive this.)" Melanie Li: We did some whale watching...the night sky on Molokai was scattered with stars. It was breath-takingly beautiful. We could see Orion's belt and the Big Dipper (or at least we think it was the Big Dipper...) and about that meet: "It was not one of our best meets. We came in 9th..." Ninth by numbers maybe, but a first class experience all around! |

Menes on the Court!
MOHS Mock Trial Team Progresses in Competition! After grueling months of practice, our MOHS legal eagles were unbeaten in two rounds of the competition. Students learn courtroom procedure, legal skills and strategies, and logic logic logic! They are required to master both the defense and the prosecution of each case and to think on their feet and provide articulate and eloquent arguments to convince their judges. Our MOHS Mock Trial Team is coached by Wray Jose. |
